Adams was the daughter of a U.S. Army officer in Italy and was raised within Castle Rock Colorado. She began dancing and acting professionally at the end of the 90s. She was part of Boulder Dinner Theatre, and after that, the Country Dinner Playhouse. After that, she relocated to Minnesota and was cast in Drop Dead Gorgeous, a mock documentary film that explored beauty contests. After making her screen debut as a charming but snarky contestant she moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Also, she raised Kelly Curtis, Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was found by actress Norma Shearer and signed a contract to work for MGM in the late 1940s. The actress portrayed Norma in various popular films throughout time, like Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho which was released in 1960 as well as Living It Up, a Martin and Lewis film released in 1954.
