Aspen Ladd was 14 when she started to take part in the combat sports. Aspen Ladd trained in kickboxing, BJJ, boxing and wrestling before making her debut as an amateur at WCFC aged 18. Ladd was able to continue building upon her triumph in Ultimate Reno Combat, where she won 3 consecutive bouts. She knocked out all her opponents in the first round. After that, she went back to WCFC in which she beat Leslie Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Aspen defeated Silvia B beghian as well as Maddy Simmons prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia defeated Aspen to beat her a unanimous vote, leaving a black mark on Ladd's records for amateur. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n' Uff and improved her record for amateurs to 8-1. Aspen signed her contract with Invicta FC in 2015 to make her debut as a pro. She faced Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11, where she dominated her to secure a first-round TKO.
