Aspen Ladd was 14 when she started to take part in the combat sports. Aspen Ladd trained in kickboxing, BJJ, boxing and wrestling before making her debut as an amateur at WCFC aged 18. Ladd was able to continue building upon her triumph in Ultimate Reno Combat, where she won 3 consecutive bouts. She knocked out all her opponents in the first round. After that, she went back to WCFC in which she beat Leslie Rodriguez by unanimous decision. Aspen defeated Silvia B beghian as well as Maddy Simmons prior to facing Cynthia Calvillo. Cynthia defeated Aspen to beat her a unanimous vote, leaving a black mark on Ladd's records for amateur. Ladd defeated Roma Pawelek on Tuff n' Uff and improved her record for amateurs to 8-1. Aspen signed her contract with Invicta FC in 2015 to make her debut as a pro. She faced Ana Carolina Vidal at Invicta FC 11, where she dominated her to secure a first-round TKO. Invicta Combat Championships 16, Aspen won the following match against Amanda Cooper through a second-round submission by armbar. Aspen's superior wrestling skill took down McGill as she was able to end her fight in the third round by TKO (elbows and punches). She next fought Jessica Hoy at Invicta FC 18 in the weight class of catchweight(138.1lb) as Ladd was unable to reach the weight limit. Aspen defeated Hoy and defeated her in the second round by KO. Invicta FC 28 was her final bout with the club. Invicta FC 22 saw Sijara Eubanks beaten by a unanimous verdict. Aspen Ladd was the first UFC fighter to make her debut. She faced Linalansberg during UFC Fight Night 118. She outclassed Lina by pound-for-pound, and took the TKO round in the 2nd. She continued to dominate and won a much more convincing victory when she fought Tonya Evinger, at UFC 229 Ladd ended Evinger in the opening round. She also received a performance of the night bonus. Invicta FC's Sijara Ebanks was her opponent for the rematch that took place at UFC Fight Night dos Anjos against Lee. This was Ladd's debut major fight. Both fighters fought an intense fight which Ladd was victorious by a majority decision. The two fighters each received the Fight of the Night Bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie defeated Ladd in just 16 seconds to end her streak of winning. Yana Knitskaya was defeated by Ladd in the third round of UFC 7.7 on ESPN. For a replacement last minute to her UFC fight, she took on Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She was beaten by a unanimous vote.
